Predictions

Mark: Calgary Flames 4 – Toronto Maple Leafs 2

Let’s keep this party going! The Flames are red hot and playing very well at home. Toronto is under .500 on the road and lost nine of their last 12 in Calgary. The Flames win their 7th straight and the battle of new coaches.

Michael: Calgary Flames 6 – Toronto Maple Leafs 4

I have both David Rittich and Frederik Andersen on my fantasy team so I’m selfishly hoping the game is kept low scoring. Of course that means it won’t be but I see the Flames extending their winning streak regardless. My bold prediction of the game is that the Flames get three goals from defensemen.

Flash: Calgary Flames 3 – Toronto Maple Leafs 2

Flames record, current streak: 17-12-4, W6 // xGF% 49.26 // CF% 50.46 // SH% 6.8 // SV% 91.7

Leafs record, current streak: 15-13-4, W2 // xGF% 49.58  // CF% 53.21 // SH% 7.7 // SV% 91.5

The Maple Leafs and Flames are both teams that are running new systems with new coaches, very hard to predict as there’s only 2 weeks of sample size to go by. I think Calgary, after 2 abysmal possession games, come back strong at home, play sound and take the W from the Leafs. Win streak of 7 sounds pretty nice. (Number say bet Toronto, slightly)

Maddie: Calgary Flames 4 – Toronto Maple Leafs 3

The Flames’ offense seems to be clicking better over the last few games, and if you add this to the fact that the Leafs’ defense remains a bit vulnerable, I think this could spell another solid offensive outburst for the Flames. But, that said, the Leafs can also score some goals, so I think this one could well end up something of a shootout. If this one ends 4-3 in the Leafs’ favor, I wouldn’t be terribly surprised either.
