The Morning After
Calgary Flames 2 - Washington Capitals 4
Tidbits
-1100 Man: Anytime a member of the opposition reaches a significant milestone, we here at M&G tip our cap. Last night was one of those nights. Alex Ovechkin played in his 1100th career NHL game. He’s now tied for the 7th most games played by an active player with Dan Hamhuis of the Nashville Predators.
-12 And Not Going Strong: Johnny Gaudreau’s goal-less drought continued last night as he has now gone 12 straight games without lighting the lamp. His longest stretch was 15 games in his first full season in the NHL back in 2014-15.
-Feeling For Talbot: Poor Cam. He’s had 4 starts this season and two have come against the Capitals, both resulting in losses. In two starts versus Washington he’s given up 8 goals on 61 shots. The two losses takes his career record to 4-7-0 against the Caps.
