Well that’s more like it! After a pretty disappointing loss to the Avalanche in the season opener, the Flames were able to pretty swiftly get things back on track and put on a very nice show for the crowd at their home opener tonight. This one was a bit messy at times, as it saw a total of 24 penalty minutes (14 for the Flames and 10 for the Canucks) dealt, and the Flames taking their foot off the gas some in the third period and giving the Canucks a bit more space to work with. But in the end, it was a pretty tidy win for the Flames, and the big guns stole the show. Each of Elias Lindholm, Sean Monahan, and Johnny Gaudreau picked up goals, and David Rittich got the shutout. And that’s what we like to see.
