The Morning After Colorado
Calgary Flames (3) - Colorado Avalanche (5)
Tidbits
-Have Your Cake: October 3rd was Mark Giordano’s 36th birthday and he capped off the day with his first goal of the season. This was only the 2nd time the Flames have played on Gio’s birthday and it’s the first time he scored a goal on the day he was born.
-Multi Point Milestone: Johnny Gaudreau had a goal and an assist last night making it the 100th multi point game of his career.
-Not His Night: David Rittich couldn’t help the Flames get past their opening night blues. But he shouldn’t feel too bad. Miikka Kiprusoff lost his first opening night starter gig with the Flames as well, 6-3 to the Minnesota Wild back in 2005-06.
