Austin Czarnik Shelved, Alan Quine Recalled

Austin Czarnik can’t catch a break this season and it’s a shame because he’s been playing so well lately. Czarnik missed time earlier this season after getting run over twice by Nikita Zadorov during the Flames opening night loss to the Colorado Avalanche. He then sustained a lower body injury in the Flames 6-5, shoot out victory over the Florida Panthers Thursday night. As a result of that injury Calgary has placed the 26 year old Detroit native on long term injury reserve.

In his place, the Flames have recalled Alan Quine from Stockton to fill the roster spot vacated by Czarnik. Quine played in one game for the Flames so far this season and has seen the ice four times for the Heat, registering one goal and four assists.

Czarnik had been playing well for the Flames, scoring goals in two straight games and having a point in three straight.
