Oh boy was that one not a whole lot of fun! The Flames went into Vegas tonight and once again dropped the first goal of the game. They weren’t without their life and energy, and two goals from Rasmus Andersson and Johnny Gaudreau in the span of just about 30 seconds early in the second period had the Flames reclaiming the lead and looking like they had some life back.
The bad news, of course, is that this didn’t exactly hold. The Golden Knights put up five unanswered goals after that, as the Flames battled with turnovers and miscues, tripping over their own feet. They had a couple of good looks on the power play, but couldn’t put anything away.
Ah, well, short memory is needed here, as they say. Off to San Jose on Sunday.
