The 2019 NHL ASG Jerseys: Ready To Be Underwhelmed?

You’re going to wish that they were the one’s Johnny and Gio are wearing in the photo.

So, the NHL has released the 2019 ASG jerseys today and here’s what they look like:

Anyone else underwhelmed? The idea behind the recycled plastic is fantastic. The NHL and Adidas should be applauded for incorporating recycled materials in these and making the ocean environment an issue, especially with the game in San Jose. The marketing department nailed the short videos for each team as the underwater video and “save the oceans” vibe is translated so well. Where they failed? The design. Black and white kits for every NHL team is the best you could do?

Since ditching the greatest ASG uniforms of all time (1989 set) the NHL has been hit or miss when coming up with their setups for the midseason exhibition. The 2019 jersyes are a miss...design wise. Again, love the idea of using recycled materials in the jerseys, but the simple black and white look is boring and to be honest, kind of lazy. To quote our writer Dustin “It looks like the printer ran out of ink.” Indeed Dustin, Indeed. But what do I know, I was a huge fan of these:
