Calgary Flames at Chicago Blackhawks [Game 44]

Published

on

The Pacific-leading Calgary Flames are in Illinois to take on the Central’s second-to-last place Chicago Blackhawks as they hope to take a true points lead over the suddenly surging Vegas Golden Knights. The Flames have done exceedingly well this season, but Vegas has managed to tie them and the San Jose Sharks are nipping at their heels in the division. Points are starting to become premium in the second half of the season.

Austin Czarnik gets to go again after Dillon Dube’s demotion. That’s a move that’s been a long time coming. Czarnik has done quite well in his limited time and there are a number of people he should be playing over and Dube was one of them. No other changes will be made to the lineup tonight.

David Rittich will get his second consecutive start after his brief injury. Rittich is really the only option in net for the Flames at this juncture with everyone else in the organization struggling which has lead to rumours that the Flames may make a move. Those rumours seem to be stemmed from this very stupid opinion that the Flames should acquire another goalie on the wrong side of 30 that’s often injured and is incredibly inconsistent.

More on that later. Now it’s about time for puck drop. Game time starts at 6:30 P.M. M.S.T.
