Calgary Flames 3 – Philadelphia Flyers 2 OT

NHL Standings

The Flames did the usual yesterday: overcame a deficit and then won a game in OT. Yawn. It’s like it is almost expected at this point. Matthew Tkachuk scored the game tying goal and then in OT fed T.J. Brodie on a breakaway for the game winner and the Flames improved to 26-13-4 on the season. Here’s the rest of the best of what wasn’t covered in our recap or Rate The Flames.

Tidbits

-Another OT Win: Calgary improved to 4-2 in OT on the season. The 3 on 3 session is clearly their best as they are 0-2 when they reach the shoot out.

-3rd’s The Word: Calgary scored their 63rd third period goal yesterday, padding their lead in that category.

-First Place!: Yesterday’s win put the Flames ahead of Vegas by two points and in sole posession of first place in the West. They are also now tied with the Toronto Maple Leafs for the second most points in the NHL.
