Calgary Flames at Boston Bruins [Game 41]

Published

on

The Calgary Flames have made the trip from Michigan to Massachusetts and are set to play their second game in back-to-back nights. The Flames played last night and are stuck playing their backup goalie with no rest thanks to an injury to David Rittich, so this one doesn’t look too favourable for the Flames. Their opponents in the Boston Bruins have not played since January first where they played the Chicago Blackhawks in the Winter Classic.

As stated, Mike Smith is getting the start tonight. The team stated that Rittich had a chance to play in this one, but are playing it cautious in this one which is probably warranted in an interconference matchup with not much on the line. Smith will be backed up by Jon Gillies.

There will be no changes to the lineup tonight. Austin Czarnik once again has the scratch for some reason along with Dalton Prout and Ryan Lomberg. Puck drop is at 5:00 P.M. M.S.T.
