As Women’s Hockey continues to #GrowTheGame more than ever before, a few notables will be honored at tonight’s NHL All-Star Skill Competition, including two players from our very own Calgary Inferno!

Not even a week removed from the Canadian Women’s Hockey League’s own All-Star Game, the players will be called upon to demonstrate certain skills competition drills for the live crowd and the viewing audience at home before the NHLers try their hand.

Inferno Captain and team leading point-getter Rebecca Johnston will be demonstrating the Puck Control drill, and is joined by her Inferno teammate Brianna Decker who will be demonstrating in Premier Passing. Also joining the field are Renata Fast of the CWHL’s Toronto Furies and US Olympian Kendall Coyne, both for demonstrations of Accuracy Shooting.

With the injury announcement that Nathan MacKinnon of the Colorado Avalanche will not be participating, he is replaced in the Fastest Skater department by Kendall Coyne. She is the first woman to officially participate in an NHL All-Star event.

Each skater will be representing their national team sweaters, with Fast and Johnston in Team Canada red and Decker alongside Coyne Schofield in Team USA red, white and blue.

Best of luck to the ladies tonight!
