The Calgary Flames returned to the Saddledome for their final game before the upcoming All-Star break. They welcomed the Carolina Hurricanes to town, including a pair of familiar faces in Micheal Ferland and Dougie Hamilton.

Calgary got out to an early lead thanks to Oliver Kylington scoring for the second time in two games, jumping out from the corner with the puck to beat Mrazek. The Canes would equalize before the end of the period.

Mark Jankowski would give the Flames the lead in the 2nd on some 4-on-4 before Sebastian Aho would tie it late in the third to send the game to OT.

From there Mikael Backlund would go to work, receiving a pass from T.J. Brodie and busting into the Carolina zone and scoring the winner.

Calgary enters their break with a six point lead on San Jose, and a nine point lead on Vegas.
