Calgary Flames 6 - Detroit Red Wings 4
Calgary got more third period magic and were able to survive the Detroit Red Wings with a 6-4 victory. The Flames got major contributions from outside of their top two lines and despite some suspect goaltending were able to come out with two points and pad their lead in the Western Conference.
Tidbits
-Sam Am I Am: Someone forgot to tell Sam Bennett he’s not supposed to score. The Flames forward has six points in his last seven games.
-The Final 11 Minutes: The Flames scored three goals in the final 11 minutes of the 3rd period to get the 6-4 win. That ups their season total to 182, just 8 goals behind league leading Tampa’s 190.
-Johnny Still Going: Johnny Gaudreau collected an assist last night on Sean Monahan’s goal which extended his points streak to 10 games. That ties his career high.
