Calgary Flames 4 - Florida Panthers 3
The Flames did what they do best last night: own the third period and come out victorious. It’s a pretty simple blue print actually and the Flames are nailing it to perfection. David Rittich made some timely saves last night, stopped 24 of 27 shots and he earned his 17th win of the season. Here’s the rest of the best of what wasn’t covered in our recap or Rate The Flames.
Tidbits
-3M’in It: The Flames top line didn’t make the score sheet until Sean Monahan scored an empty net goal late in the 3rd period. Instead, Calgary was carried by the 3M Line. Michael Frolik had a goal and 2 assists, Matthew Tkachuk had a goal and Mikael Backlund had a helper as well.
-Like A Broken Record: Calgary scored two more third period goals, upping their total to 69 on the season.
-Calgary has now won four staight games, which is the third time they’ve done that this season. They can tie their high water mark of five in a row with a win on Sunday against Arizona.
