Florida Panthers at Calgary Flames [Game 46]

NHL: Florida Panthers at Calgary Flames Sergei Belski-USA TODAY Sports

The first place Calgary Flames are on home ice again and will look to expand upon their lead in an inter-conference matchup with the Florida Panthers. There’s not much of a narrative to go along with this one folks. There’s next to no rivalry with these two teams, the Flames are in first place and the Panthers are in a position where it behooves them to lose, and they aren’t exactly a team that’s rife with talent that lures one to the stadium. The most one could say is that both teams were the last employers of Jaromir Jagr.

David Rittich is the confirmed starter tonight. The Flames should not lose to Florida with Rittich in net. He’s expected to face Roberto Luongo, but that’s not solidified yet.

In some awesome news, Garnet Hathaway may finally be written out of the lineup. He and Dalton Prout were extras in today’s skate and are not expected to play. Oliver Kylington is expected to return in place of Prout while Andrew Mangiapane is expected to come in for Hathaway in lineups that look about as optimal as possible, though it’s interesting that they’d choose to finally go that route against a team that is far inferior.

Game time is at 7:00 P.M. M.S.T.
