Flames Cut 17 Players, Roster Now at 33

The Flames made a boatload of cuts today

The Calgary Flames have shaved their camp roster from 50 guys down to 33 with 17 cuts being made today. The cuts were a mix of assigning players to Stockton, waiving (for eventual assignment to Stockton), or release from PTO’s. Here’s the breakdown for each.

Eight Players Assigned to Stockton:

  • C Glenn Gawdin
  • LW Ryan Lomberg
  • LW Brett Pollokc
  • RW Spencer Foo
  • RW Matthew Phillips
  • D Adam Ollas Mattsson
  • D Oliver Kylington
  • G Tyler Parsons

Five Players on Waivers

  • C Tyler Graovac
  • C Alan Quine
  • LW Morgan Klimchuk
  • LW Kerby Rychel
  • RW Buddy Robinson

Released from PTO’s

  • RW Gilbert Brule
  • D Ryan Sproul
  • D Viktor Svedberg
  • G Jeff Glass

Expect more cuts in the coming days as the Flames aim to have their NHL roster set by Saturday’s final pre-season contest in Edmonton.
