Calgary Flames Sign F James Neal

Real Deal James Neal signed to Big Deal

NHL: Stanley Cup Final-Vegas Golden Knights at Washington Capitals Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

Well, Flames fans were still craving the big move after the opening day of free agency and well, they got it.

The Flames have signed James Neal to a five year contract with an AAV of $5.75M, totaling $28.75M over those five years.

Neal had 25 goals and 19 assists with the Vegas Golden Knights last season, along with an additional 19 points during their run to the Stanley Cup Final. It was Neal’s second straight trip to the Final but his team lost both times.

He brings a very impressive resume to Calgary as he’s never scored less than 20 goals once in his career.

The Flames will be Neal’s fifth team after the Dallas Stars, Pittsburgh Penguins, Nashville Predators, and the Golden Knights.
