Flames Place Brett Kulak On Waivers
Kulak and the Flames have an arbitration meeting Monday.
What's your reward for having a solid season as a member of the Flames bottom defensive pairing? You get put on waivers.
Kulak had a very solid season last year while being paired with Michael Stone. While not a spectacular defender, Kulak was never an albatross and played very steadily on the blue line for the Flames (71 games, 2G 6A).
Kulak's contract expired at the end of last season ($650,000) and he is currently a RFA. The Flames and Brett Kulak have an arbitration hearing on Monday, so this could all be nothing by the end of Monday afternoon.
With that said, the Flames have a strong defensive pool in Stockton and this could be a sign of the Flames moving on from Kulak.
