Fan Poll Friday: Thoughts On Jon Gillies

Is Gillies in the Flames future plans or is it time to move on?

Fan Poll Friday

So, Jon Gillies got some time with the big club this season and it would be fair to say the results are “mixed.” Gillies finished the season with a 2-5-1 record with the Flames and a Save% of .889. Not exactly what you were hoping to see out of your potential future #1.

His numbers in Stockton weren’t exceptional either. Gillies final numbers with the Heat look like this:

W/L: 15-15-3-4

Save%: .916

GAA: 2.54

He carried the bulk of the workload in Stockton while David Rittich was in Calgary backing up Mike Smith, but his run with the Flames didn’t inspire much confidence in anyone this season. He appeared to battle pucks early in games, but once he settled in he was effective at times.

This leaves us with a small NHL sample size for the 24 year old Concord, New Hampshire native and we want to know what YOU think of Jon Gillies? Vote in our poll below!
