Calgary Flames at Winnipeg Jets [Game 81]

Published

on

The Calgary Flames are in Manitoba as they take on the Winnipeg Jets in the penultimate game of their season. There's not much to write about this one. The Flames are out of the playoffs and aren't picking until round three in the draft.

The team is still dealing with a bevy of injuries and the lineup reflects that. No T.J. Brodie, no Travis Hamonic, no Sean Monahan and no Matthew Tkachuk makes for an uninspiring lineup. As a result, the Jets are heavily favoured against a Flames team that features Nick Shore on the first line and an awful lot of awful players in the lineup. Four of them are beneath replacement level in possession and points meaning they aren't even qualified to be fourth liners or third pairing defensemen.

Jon Gillies gets the call in net tonight as Mike Smith either recovers or finds himself in the doghouse for his comments. Connor Hellebuyck is in net for Winnipeg. Puck drop is at 6:05 P.M. M.S.T.
