Projected Lines
The Flames lines are the same as they were in Pittsburgh, but David Rittich will get the start in net ahead of Jon Gillies. After winning his first 2 starts Gillies has cooled off with 3 straight losses. Rittich wasn’t exactly setting the world on fire either. Since getting the nod as starter when Mike Smith went down David Rittich has gone 1-4-1 and seen his Save % drop to .900.
The goaltending isn’t all to blame. Calgary’s top two snipers, Johnny Gaudreau and Sean Monahan, have been no shows as of late. During the Flames current 4 game losing streak Gaudreau has 1 assist and Monahan has 0 points. The pair has picked a bad time to disappear as the Flames playoff hopes are circling the drain and they desperately need their top two players to start showing up.
