The Flames power play had another brutal showing last night going 0-3 against the Coyotes. The Flames are now 0 for their last 15 times with the man advantage.

Andersson Plays

Rasmus Andersson was recalled to Calgary on Monday and suited up for the Flames on Monday night. He played 13:32 in the game, was a -1 and didn’t have a shot on net. Andersson got the call due to T.J. Brodie being out with an upper body injury.

That’s how many losses Mike Smith has since coming back from injury. The Flames top keeper lost to his old team last night, surrendering 3 goals on 28 shots. You have to feel for the Flames #1 seeing he’s not getting a ton of help in front of him. He and the Flames have dropped 3 in a row.

Dougie Hamiton Tops

Dougie Hamilton had a 2 point night with a goal and an assist against Arizona. The goal was his 16th of the season and he now leads all NHL defencemen in goals. He’s currently 1 ahead of Florida’s Aaron Ekblad.

Playoff Update

Because they haven’t technically been eliminated, here’s your playoff update. The Flames loss and LA’s win last night puts the Flames (80) 6 points behind LA, Colorado and Anaheim in the Western Conference playoff race. Face it, the playoff dream is dead.
