Calgary Flames @ Chicago Blackhawks, 6:30 PM MT, United Center, Chicago IL

Not much has changed at all since the Flames and Blackhawks last got together on Saturday night. Both teams are currently on the outside when it comes to the playoffs, but the Flames are inching closer.

Tonight’s game starts a 6 game road swing for the the good guys as the Flames will make trips to NJ, NY, Boston and Nashville. None of those teams are layups and the Flames need to go at least .500 on the trip or they are in trouble. The good news is the Flames play extremely well away from home and they will have a chance to so some damage in the West if they can pick up some wins.

Last Time Out

Calgary Flames 4 Chicago Blackhawks 3 (OT)

It took OT, but for the second time this season the Flames got a W against the Blackhawks. Sean Monahan shock the monkey off his back with the OT winner after firing 9 shots on Jeff Glass. Here’s our recap and the highlights from NHL.com

Players To Watch

Calgary Flames

Matt Stajan (C). While being relegated to the 4th line might not be fun for Stajan, he’s made the most of it recently. The Flames veteran has goals in his last 2 games giving him 3 goals on the season. While those stats aren’t as eye popping as other Flames, it’s good see Stajan put the puck in the net and generate some offence for the Flames bottom 6.

Chicago Blackhawks

Patrick Kane (F). Kane continued his strong showing for the Blackhawks this season with a 2 assist effort against the Flames Thursday night. As well as Calgary plays on the road, Kane plays just as well at home. Of his 52 points, 27 have come at the United Center.
