The Calgary Flames road trip continues as they head to Denver to take on the Colorado Avalanche. The Avalanche come into this one just .3% higher in points percentage than the Flames, so this is a pertinent game for both teams. The Flames are chasing more than just the Avalanche, but this is a place to start.
Chris Stewart had an awful game next to Johnny Gaudreau and Sean Monahan and has been demoted to the third line. Sam Bennett will return to the top line. No other changes will be made on forward or defense.
This game is a scheduled loss for the Flames as they're the tired, traveling team playing against the rested Avalanche. With that said, Calgary's puck possession is lightyears ahead of Colorado and they seem to be the better team points percentage not withstanding. If they play their game and avoid penalties they'll have a solid chance in this one.
David Rittich will start for the Flames. Rittich has struggled mightily as of late and he needs to rebound here. He's up against Semyon Varlamov for the Avalanche.
Puck drop is at 7:30 P.M. M.S.T.
