Trade Deadline Poll: What Should The Flames Do?

It’s an emergency Fan Poll as the NHL’s Trade Deadline is upon us. The Flames have been pretty tight lipped about what their “plan” is, if they even have one. Throughout the media and social media universe there have been a few names tossed around that the Flames could/should go after, but are they worth it and should the Flames do anything?

Calgary is currently in the playoff mix, but they’ve played so up and down it’s hard to pinpoint if they are a true playoff team or a team that will just miss out. Calgary doesn’t have picks to deal and what they have to offer isn’t going to make you go “YES MAKE THAT DEAL!” Face it, you know you want Troy Brouwer and or Michael Stone moved, but what are they going to get you and does anyone want them? Are you ready to move a prospect like Rasmus Andersson? Jon Gillies? Sam Bennett? Micheal Ferland (don’t even think about it)? Do you want a rental? A long term, bad contract? A good hockey player who might have a suspect personality?

See, it’s not so easy. I’d hate to be inside Brad Treliving’s head right now as he’s making and taking phone calls in advance of the deadline. In all honesty I don’t think this current edition of the Flames is primed for a Stanley Cup run (HOT TAKE!). They could get into the playoffs and POSSIBLY make some noise in the first round, but even the homerest of homer fans can’t really believe that this team could be hoisting Lord Stanley’s Cup this summer.
