The Calgary Flames and St.Louis Blues met for the third and final time this season and second time in less than a week. It was the final game for both sides before the Christmas break, and the Blues were looking for some revenge after their 7-2 loss earlier in the week.
St. Louis managed to do just that, capitalizing on a slow start by the Flames to jump ahead 2-0 in the first period. Calgary managed to get one back from Matthew Tkachuk on the powerplay, but St. Louis would withstand a second period push from the Flames.
The third period looked much like the first, with a weak goal extending the Blues lead to 3-1, and the Flames responded by mostly packing things in for the night. Not a pretty performance.
The Flames will head into the Christmas break in first place in the Pacific, but on a three game losing streak.
