Every year this comes up at some point and not because of a loss, but because it’s a horrible way to win a game: should the shoot out be removed from NHL games? The 3 on 3 overtime portion of an NHL game is revolutionary and it’s way more exciting than a skills competition drill to end a game. A prime example of this was in last night’s Calgary and Tampa Bay game. Sure, the goaltenders were solid in the shoot out, but how good was that OT period? The 3 v 3 was an amazing addition to an already lights out game. Ending it in a shoot out just seems criminal. So. what say you? Do you like the shoot out? Vote in our poll below.
