Last night the Flames did it again, they snatched victory from the jaws of defeat with a another third period comeback. The victim this time was the Chicago Blackhawks as the Flames sent them home losers 5-3, extending Calgary’s winning streak to 4 games. Here’s the rest of the best that wasn’t covered in the recap or Rate The Flames.
-300: Jonathan Toews scored at 13:57 of the first period, tying the game at 1-1. The goal was the ‘Hawks captain’s 8th of the season, but more importantly his 300th of this career.
-Who Needs A Full Game?: Calgary once again pulled out a victory in the final 20 minutes. The three third period goals now adds to their league leading 28 goals in the final frame.
-Stat Climbing: Johnny Gaudreau had 2 points. Sean Monahan had 2 points. Matthew Tkachuk scored a goal. All those points have now vaulted all three into the Top 10 in points in the NHL. Gaudreau has 19, Monahan & Tkachuk each have 18. Elias Lindholm had 2 assists last night is only 1 point out of the Top 10 with 17 points.
