Calgary fought back and took the lead in the third, but couldn’t hold on

It was a tight fought battle all night long between the Calgary Flames and Dallas Stars, but it was ultimately Dallas who came away with the overtime victory.

Jason Spezza opened the scoring for Dallas, before Garnet Hathaway tied it late in the first.

Dallas took a 2-1 lead on a PP goal from Jamie Benn in the second. Calgary would then tie it with Johnny Gaudreau scoring on a PP in the third period. Mark Giordano would make it 3-2 Flames shortly after, but Gavin Bayreuther would tie it for Dallas with six minutes to go.

Dallas would win it in overtime with Tyler Seguin was found alone in the slot by a falling Jamie Benn (falling because he bumped into David Rittich but whatever). The Flames would challenge for goalie interference as they believed Rittich didn’t have time to get set. It was a close call, and ultimately close calls stick with the call on the ice.

Flames fall to 14-9-2 on the year, but are still a point clear of the other Pacific Division teams.
