Last piece of the Iginla trade is gone

The Calgary Flames and Toronto Maple Leafs have made a trade with the Flames acquiring a player who’s last name begins with N.

No, not that guy.

The Flames acquired 22 year old defenseman Andrew Nielsen from the Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for 23 year old left wing Morgan Klimchuk. This is a depth move for both sides with both players reporting to their respective farm clubs.

Nielsen was a third round pick of the Maple Leafs in 2015, and has spent the last three years on the Toronto Marlies as a depth defenseman. He had 26 points points in 65 games last year and 143 PIM.

Klimchuk was most known for being the pick and final piece remaining from the infamous Jarome Iginla trade. He had 8 points in 16 games for the Stockton Heat this year, but clearly their defensive depth was lacking.

At ease folks, at ease.
