Calgary Flames at Arizona Coyotes [Game 24]

Published

on

The Calgary Flames desert trip continues as they take on the Arizona Coyotes at the Gila River Arena. The Flames were shut out in their last game against the Vegas Golden Knights by a score of two to nothing and are looking to rebound here tonight. The Coyotes are the second worst team in the Pacific and present a good chance for the Flames to get back to their winning ways.

Mike Smith is going to start in net tonight against his former team. His performance hardly warrants the ceremonial start, but he’ll get it none the less as David Rittich can’t play every game. Still, many had hoped that Rittich would go as the Flames weren’t on a back to back.

Jusso Valimaki is day-to-day and is going to sit this one out with a lower body injury. Oliver Kylington will get the start in his place. Ryan Lomberg is the lone healthy scratch while Dalton Prout is on his conditioning stint in the AHL.
