Flames Place Michael Frolik and Michael Stone on IR

Calgary has its roster knocked down by two players due to injury

The Calgary Flames made a pair of announcements this morning prior to getting ready for their swing to Vegas and Arizona.

Michael Frolik was placed on IR with a lower-body injury and will not be travelling with the team on the trip. Frolik had been off to a decent start this year, netting seven goals and playing up and down the lineup where needed.

Mike Stone was also placed on IR with a blood clot which is a much scarier situation. It was only discovered today, and there is no clear timetable for him to return.

With Dalton Prout already in Stockton on a conditioning stint, the Flames roster is currently down to 12 forwards and 6 defencemen, so I’d expect a callup or two in the next few days.
