The Calgary Flames took it to the Vegas Golden Knights from the opening faceoff, and ended the night with a dominating 7-2 victory over their divisional rival. Things got going very early with Matthew Tkachuk tallying his first of two on the night on the PP, before Johnny Gaudreau made it 2-0 in quick succession.
Sean Monahan would get two in the first period and T.J. Brodie would also grab his first goal of the year in the opening frame as Calgary led 5-0 (!!!) after one.
Tkachuk and Sam Bennett would score for the Flames in the second to make it 7-0, before Vegas would put home a pair in the third to round out the scoring.
