NHL Standings

A busy week for the Flames begins tonight with a visit from the Vegas Golden Knights. Calgary will play 4 times in 7 days and 2 of those contests will be against these very Golden Knights.

It hasn’t been easy sledding for the Flames against the second year NHL franchise. It took the Flames until game 82 to finally defeat their new Pacific Division opponent last season, losing the previous 3 contests in 2017-18. The Flames split with Vegas at the Saddledome but lost both contests in Vegas by hefty margins.

Vegas comes to the Saddledome in 7th place in the Pacific with 19 points, which all things considered isn’t bad after their terrible start. The upstart expansion francise dropped 4 of their first 5 games and were hanging in the basement with Arizon until a 3 game winning streak in mid October started to steer the ship in the right direction. Vegas pumped in 6 goals against the Oilers Sunday night, but that hasn’t helped their goal scoring output. They are currently 24th in the NHL in GF with 55.
