Travis Hamonic stood up for Dillon Dube after he was nailed with a questionable hit by Erik Gudbranson and for his troubles he recieved a broken face. The Flames defenceman is now listed as week to week after fracturing part of his face in the first period fight against the Canucks Wednesday night. Hamonic returned to play in the game, a true show of how tough he really is. The fight was extremely lopsided, with Hamonic being the much smaller of the two combatants. The good news in all of this is at least someone did something, which is more than you can say about the 2017-18 Calgary Flames.

In the interim the Flames have recalled Rasmus Andersson from Stockton to fill the void on the blueline.
