Calgary Flames Approval Polls: End of October

A chance to have your say on all facets of the team

Published

on

I’ve seen other sites at SBNation take a stab at these, so for the first time I present, the Calgary Flames approval polls. These polls will gauge how you feel the team, the coaches, management, and ownership at the current time. This will be a monthly article at the end of each month, so we’ll be able to see how everyone’s views change over the course of the season.

Our format is simply for players, we will be asking if they’ve either exceeded, met, or fallen beneath your expectations. They will be asked on a grouped basis such as top six, bottom six, defense. It is worth noting that you’re evaluating the lines/pairings as a whole, so you have to take into account players that are playing well and players that are struggling.

For coaches, management, and owners, it’ll be a simple “Do you approve of the job X is doing?” with a Yes, No, or Unsure response. Vote away!

Players

Top Six

The most regular top line for the Calgary Flames this season has been a line of Johnny Gaudreau – Sean Monahan – Elias Lindholm. We’ll also use the 3M Line (Tkachuk-Backlund-Frolik) as the second line, so that’s what you’ll be voting on.

Bottom Six

This is basically all the rest of the Flames forwards thus far, and you’re evaluating them as a whole, including scratches.

Defensive Core

All of the Flames defenders have been lumped into one group for this.

Goaltenders

Mike Smith and David Rittich, easy enough, and definitely not a contentious topic.

Coaches/Management/Owners

Bill Peters

Brad Treliving

Treliving’s vote can go all the way back to how you felt about his summer moves as well.
