The Flames opened up their brief east coast swing with a 4-1 victory over the New York Rangers that was probably not deserved, but stolen by a fantastic night by David Rittich. Johnny Gaudreau and Garnet Hathaway (???) both had two goals for the Flames in the victory but the story was 45 saves from Rittich.
