After a somewhat surprising omission from the original All-Star game roster, it seems like Mike Smith will be heading to the 2018 NHL All-Star Game in Tampa after all.
All Star notes:

-Sounds like Brayden Point will replace Victor Hedman on Atlantic Team.
-Jon Quick is going to pass on the weekend. Replacement will be Mike Smith.
-Even if suspended, Marchand is expected to be in Tampa.
Smith will be replacing Los Angeles Kings goaltender Jonathan Quick who declined to go to the weekend fesitivities.
This will be Smith’s second all star appearance and who could forget this great moment from last year’s skills contest.

Smith has been the Flames MVP thus far in 2017-18, playing in 40 of the Flames 47 games and posting a 20-13-5 record. His save percentage is an outstanding 0.926 and his GAA is 2.41.
Smith will join Johnny Gaudreau as the two Calgary Flames at All-Star Weekend. Congratulations Mike!
