The Adirondack Thunder (Calgary Flames affiliate) threw up three W’s over the last week beating the Elmira Jackals last Friday, then the Norfolk Admirals on Saturday and the Manchester Monarchs on Tuesday.
The Thunder got 2 goals from Peter MacArthur and one goal from Brian Ward on Friday as they beat the Jackals 3-2. Brock Montgomery got 2 assists and Kevin Lough, Cullen Bradshaw and J.C. Campagna each got one assist. J.P. Anderson stopped 21 of 23 shots for his 16th win of the season.
Saturday, the Thunder blanked the Admirals 3-0. Cullen Bradshaw, Peter MacArthur and Brian Ward each scored a goal and Alex Wall, Austin Orszulak, Ryan Culkin and James Henry got assists. J.P. Anderson stopped all 23 shots he faced for his 17th win and 2nd shut-out of the season.
Tuesday saw the Thunder hand the Manchester Monarchs a 4-1 loss. Scoring came from Cameron Brown, Brian Ward, Gunnar Hughes and Brock Montgomery. Patch Alber picked up 2 assists and Alex Wall, Christopher Dienes, Peter MacArthur and Brock Montgomery each got 1 assist. J.P. Anderson continued his hot streak stopping 34 of 35 shots for his 18th win of the season.
Peter MacArthur still leads the team in scoring with 24 goals and 39 assists for 63 points in 62 games (26th in ECHL scoring) followed by James Henry with 20 goals and 31 assists for 51 points in 64 games.
Goalie J.P. Anderson is leading the team in wins with 18 (16th in the ECHL) followed by Mason McDonald with 13 wins. Anderson leads the team with a goals against average of 2.52 (4th in the ECHL). Anderson leads the team with a 0.917 save percentage.
The Thunder now sit 1st in the North Division (2nd in the Eastern Conference), with a record of 39 wins, 20 losses, 7 overtime losses and 4 shootout losses, and can clinch the Division title with just one more win, with only two games remaining.
The Thunder’s next action comes Friday when they the Elmira Jackals (Buffalo Sabres affiliate). Game time is 7:05pm EST (5:05pm MST).
