The Flames Captain has been nominated for the Mark Messier NHL Leadership Award.

All of the good that Mark Giordano does on and off the ice doesn’t go unnoticed:

The Mark Messier Leadership Award goes to the player who “leads by positive example through on-ice performance, motivation of team members and a dedication to community activities and charitable causes.”

Giordano is one of 3 nominees for the award, the other two players are Nick Foligno and Ryan Getzlaf. The Flames Captain is no stranger to post season hardware as he took home the NHL Foundation Player Award at last season’s awards ceremony.

Shea Weber won the Mark Messier Leadership Award last season beating out John Tavares and Alexander Ovechkin.
