With the Flames having media availability today, lots of info is coming out at a fast pace. Earlier today Johnny Gaudreau announced that he would play for Team USA in the World Championships in May and Mark Giordano was considering playing for Canada. Two prominent Flames names were left off team lists and now we know why. Sean Monahan and Mikael Backlund both will skip the World Championships. Monahan is having wrist surgery and Backlund is nursing a back injury.
