Ducks at Flames [First Round – Game 4]

Win or go home time

Published

on

The Calgary Flames played their most disappointing game of the year last game as they were up by a score of four to one only to lose by a final score of five to four in overtime. That loss puts them in a three game hole and they now need to win four straight against the Anaheim Ducks. Should they win tonight, they’ll head back to the Honda Center, where the team is allegedly cursed.

There will be lineup changes for the Flames tonight. Lance Bouma and Curtis Lazar will switch places while Freddie Hamilton draws in for Matt Stajan. They’ll be along side Troy Brouwer who has managed to make every single forward he’s played with this year worse. Swapping Bouma and Lazar is a bit of a gamble while swapping Stajan out with Hamilton is a move that is in no way, shape, or form a quality decision based on just about every metric available.

Many people were hoping to see Chad Johnson in net tonight in place of Brian Elliott. Their wishes will not come true – the Flames are sticking with Elliott tonight. John Gibson starts for the Ducks despite being pulled in their last match.

Here goes nothing. It's win or go home for the Flames. Whatever happens, it's been a fun ride.
