Calgary Flames at Vancouver Canucks [Game 59]

The Bartkowski debut

Published

on

The Calgary Flames are back as they take on the Vancouver Canucks. They’re looking to gain some ground on the Lis Angeles Kings who are behind the Flames in points, but ahead in points percentage. The Canucks are hardly a stellar team and hopefully the Flames can capitalize.

The forwards tonight look the same. That means Freddie Hamilton is in while Garnet Hathaway watches from the press box. The lines look like they’ll remain the same.

On defense, Matt Bartkowski gets the start. The Flames sent Brett Kulak back to the AHL earlier today. This will be good for his development, but Bartkowski is a significant downgrade and the move is perplexing for a team fighting for a playoff spot.

Brian Elliott gets the start tonight. He’s supported the higher save percentages as of late and seems to have the support of Brad Treliving. Chad Johnson hasn’t been as horrid as. advertised, but he’ll have to wait another day for a start.
