The Flames will look to get back in the win column after a hugely disappointing loss to the Coyotes on Monday night as the Flyers come to town. Calgary sits only 1 point behind 8th place LA in the West, but the brand of hockey they played against Arizona certainly isn’t going to get them into the playoffs. The Flames up and down goaltending was down against the Coyotes and the culprit this time was Chad Johnson. It wouldn’t be shocking to see Glen Gulutzan throw Brian Elliott back in net to get the Flames rolling again. These two last met on November 27th with the Flyers beating Johnson and the Flames 5-3.

The Flyers had dropped 4 of their last 5 until the survived the San Jose Sharks with a 2-1 win in OT. The extra time win snapped a 3 game losing skid and slowed Philadelphia’s fall from the Eastern Conference playoff picture. Philly, like the Flames, sit in 9th place, but are 2 points behind 8th place Toronto. The Saddledome hasn’t been kind to the Flyers as they’ve dropped 2 straight, but from the “glass half full” side of things, Philly has gotten a win in 8 of their prior 10 visits to Calgary.
