Arizona Coyotes at Calgary Flames [Game 57]

Back-to-backs are the worst

Published

on

Fresh off of a five day break, the Calgary Flames are back. They most recently downed the Pittsburgh Penguins in a shootout and now return home to take on the much worse Arizona Coyotes. The Flames were noticeably outplayed by the Penguins last game, but the 3M line along with Micheal Ferland’s excellent strip of Sidney Crosby leading to a breakaway goal managed to get them the victory.

No changes will be made to either the forwards or defensive pairings. Brett Kulak gets to stay in for now while fans will probably complain about Dennis Wideman playing. Trying to choose between Wideman and Jyrki Jokipakka has to feel like choosing between exsanguination or death via septic shock. Glen Gulutzan is not in an enviable position when it comes to his defense.

Chad Johnson gets the start tonight. Johnson played very well last game. The Flames tend to roll with whichever goalie is hotter and that’s Johnson right now. We’ll see if he can keep it going tonight.
