Calgary is looking to get back into the win column as they welcome the Red Wings to Alberta for the evening. Calgary had their modest 3 game winning streak snapped at the hands of the Vancouver Canucks Tuesday night, all thanks to a bad start to the 3rd period. The Flames top line of Gaudreau-Monahan-Ferland is really asserting itself as a force to be reckoned with. Johnny Gaudreau had a goal and an assist against the Canucks. Micheal Ferland had a goal. Sean Monahan had a goal pulled off the board and he got a helper on the Gaudreau goal. If these 3 continue their dominating play the Flames could be very tough to beat in the coming weeks.
The Red Wings are currently 2-0-0 on their tour of the Pacific Division. Detroit dispatched the Canucks 3-2 on Monday night, getting goal with just over a minute left and they smashed the Oilers 4-0 to start the trip. The Wings are 4-1-0 in their last 5, but the sailing hasn’t always been smooth this season. Before this little 5 game run Detroit had a 0-5-1 stretch that saw them fall from the top of the East. And it’s not like a trip to the Saddledome is some cake walk for the Red Wings. All time the Wings have 33 wins in 89 trips to Calgary.

Last Time Out
Calgary Flames 3 Vancouver Canucks 5
All it took was a bad start to the 3rd period and the Flames were sunk. Calgary out played Vancouver all night, but Jacob Markstrom shutdown the Flames repeatedly and made it difficult for Calgary to crawl out of that 2 goal hole. Here’s our recap and the highlights from NHL.com
Detroit Red Wings 3 Vancouver Canucks 2
Detroit last took to the ice Monday night and were 58 minutes from going to OT when Tomas Tatar put home the game winner with a little over a minute left in regulation. Jimmy Howard stopped 26 of the 28 shots that came his way to get the win. Winging It In Motown has the recap and NHL.com provides the highlights.

Micheal Ferland (F). Ferland has cemented himself on the Flames top line and he doesn’t look to be going anywhere anytime soon. He’s tied for 6th on the Flames in points with 7 (Frolik & D.Hamilton) and 5 of those seven have come in his last 5 games.
Detroit Red Wings

Anthony Mantha (F). The Quebec native leads the Red Wings in goals with 7 and 3 have come in his last 5 games. He recently put in a 2 point effort (1G 1A) in Detroit’s 4-0 win at Edmonton.
