The Pittsburgh Penguins finish up their lone trip to Alberta this year as they take on the Calgary Flames. Pittsburgh did the Flames a favour last night, defeating the Edmonton Oilers by a score of three to two. Calgary hopes that the schedule makers did the Flames a favour with their scheduling as they’re a rested home team taking on a road team that played the night before.

There were rumours that Jaromir Jagr would make his highly anticipated return to the Flames lineup tonight, but he’s still not quite ready to go. The Flames did place Freddie Hamilton on waivers to make way for Jagr, however. Curtis Lazar is in while Tanner Glass gets the scratch at forward.

Mike Smith is in net for tonight’s game and he’s been stellar all season long. Tristan Jarry will start across from him for the second start of his NHL career and his first this season. Pittsburgh had Antti Niemi as their backup to start the year, but he was waived after posting a .797 save percentage in his three game sample size. He was picked up by the Florida Panthers.

The Penguins power play has been deadly, clicking at nearly 30 percent. The Flames have a few individuals who like to take penalties and they'll need to be on their best behaviour tonight. Pittsburgh has a heavy advantage in the special teams department.
