Stockton Sunday: Back on Track

The Heat picked up a couple of big wins this week

The Heat entered 2017 on a disappointing note with a five game losing streak. However they managed to turn things around this week picking up two victories in two games including an OT thriller against Tuscon.

In other big Heat news, rookie Mark Jankowski was selected to the AHL all-star game.

Friday: Tuscon Roadrunners (Arizona) 2 @ Stockton Heat 3 (OT)

The Heat finally got back into the win column by taking down their divisional rival Tuscon in overtime. Mark Jankowski scored the overtime winner after Keith Aulie scored his first goal with the Flames organization since January 2010. Jamie Devane also scored for Stockton while Jon Gillies made 31 saves on 33 shots in the victory.

Saturday: Milwaukee Admirals (Nashville) 0 @ Stockton Heat 4

This game was all about Emile Poirier as he tallied two goals, an assist, and four penalty minutes. Austin Carroll and Matt Frattin also scored for Stockton as they rode a stellar 35 save shutout from David Rittich to victory.

Stockton’s record now sits at 18-9-4 as they move up into third place in the Pacific Division. They have the opportunity to catch San Jose this week if they can beat them as well as take care of business between the teams below them in the standings.
