Calgary Flames at Montreal Canadiens [Game 51]

Last minute Glen Gulutzan Lineup!

Hello and welcome back Calgary Flames fans! Tonight we’re here for an eastern Canada versus Western Canada road trip as the Calgary Flames try to defeat the Montreal Canadiens. The Habs will be looking to one up the Toronto Maple Leafs who easily took down the Flames by a score of four to nothing while the Flames try to right the suddenly very wrong ship. There’s a lot of questions and not a lot of answers at the moment.

Of course one of the biggest questions was “What will tonight’s lineup be?” There was no official lineup put out for tonight until about five minutes ago and anything could have theoretically happened. Johnny Gaudreau seems to be fine after taking a Leo Komarov hit to the dome last night and the department of player safety apparently decided that the slew foot by Matthew Tkachuk and the egregious hit to the head by Komarov were washes, so both Tkachuk and Gaudreau will be in the lineup. Micheal Ferland draws in for Freddie Hamilton as it looks like he just got a night’s rest.

Brett Kulak returned last night and was once again positive in every possession category. He’ll be in tonight while Jyrki Jokipakka gets the scratch. It would’ve be a mistake to play Jokipakka, but then again there was a large enough sample size to say that about him a month and a half ago and he still received ice time.

Chad Johnson is playing tonight. That’s the smart maneuver as playing goalies in back-to-backs is generally the wrong idea. Brian Elliott certainly wasn’t stellar enough last night to buck that traditional wisdom last night, so the Flames wheel of goalies continues to spin.

That's all for now. Go Flames go!
