The Flames have been busy today signing players to PTO deals and now they’ve added another piece up front. Freddie Hamilton and the Flames have agreed on a 2 year contract:
Calgary #Flames resigned RFA Freddie Hamilton

2 year deal / 1 way deal
$612,500 cap hit
2016-17: $575,000
2017-18: $650,000
The deal is extremely cap friendly for the Flames and the money they could eventually save on Ladislav Smid’s deal will help their cap situation. The 1 way deal allows Hamilton to play in either Stockton or Calgary at the same rate and gives Calgary another offensive weapon.
The Flames signed Hamilton last season after he had a brief stint with the Colorado Avalanche. In 4 games with Calgary last season Hamilton had 2 points (1 G, 1 A) and won 57% of his faceoffs.
